BREAKING: Bryan Ndjonga inks with Stony Brook men's basketball
For the third time in three days, head coach Geno Ford brought a major portal recruit to the Stony Brook men's basketball team.
The transfer portal market is scalding hot, as the Seawolves made possibly their biggest addition yet.
On Sunday night, it was announced on Instagram that forward Bryan Ndjonga is headed to Long Island after spending his junior year with Canisius. In 2025-26 with the Golden Griffins, Ndjonga averaged 13.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Both figures placed him in the top 20 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Last season, Stony Brook struggled to consistently rebound the basketball, as forward Richard Goods led the team with 5.9 rebounds per night. After Goods’ transfer to South Florida, the Seawolves were left without a true power forward.
Ndjonga figures to fill that void, standing 6-foot-9 and weighing 200 pounds. Before playing at Canisius, Ndjonga played at California State University, Northridge and Central Michigan.
For the first time since Keenan Fitzmorris’ departure, Ford will have a big man who can effectively score. Ndjonga dropped 20 or more points on five occasions this past season.
With the addition of Ndjonga, along with guard Morris Ugusuk and forward Jaden Daughtry, Stony Brook has now brought in three impressive transfers to complement a roster with five confirmed returners.
While the Seawolves still do not have a true center, they have positioned themselves well to improve on a 17-win season last year.
